Pune Police Seek Polygraph Tests in Ketan Agarwal Gorge Murder Case as Digital Evidence Deepens Conspiracy Allegations
Pune Police have sought polygraph examinations for Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary in the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal, who fell 400 feet from Lohagad Fort near Lonavala. Investigators cite 4,400 calls, internet searches, deleted chats, and suspicious conduct as key evidence in a case built without eyewitnesses or a recovered weapon.
According to the investigation, Ketan Agarwal had picked up Siya Goyal for a trek to Lohagad Fort before he plunged into the deep gorge. Police claim the accused had conspired to eliminate him after several earlier attempts to carry out the plan had failed. Investigators also allege that the pair rehearsed the crime on a hillock in Pune before executing the fatal plan at the fort.
The investigation has uncovered extensive digital evidence that has strengthened the prosecution's case. Police say records reveal approximately 4,400 telephone calls exchanged between Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. Investigators have also recovered internet search history allegedly related to methods of killing, along with deleted chat messages that are being examined as part of the conspiracy investigation.
Police have identified additional circumstances that they believe raise serious suspicion. Investigators allege that Siya Goyal remained unusually calm while informing Ketan Agarwal's mother about the incident. They also claim that she continued to possess his mobile phone even after he had fallen into the gorge, a detail that has become a significant part of the investigation.
During questioning, both accused have denied responsibility and allegedly blamed each other for the crime. Pune Police have now sought polygraph examinations in an effort to clarify conflicting statements and advance the investigation. Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary remain in judicial custody until July 3.
The case has attracted widespread attention because investigators allege it exposes tensions surrounding an arranged marriage while relying primarily on circumstantial and digital evidence. With no eyewitnesses and no murder weapon recovered, the outcome of the investigation is expected to depend heavily on forensic findings, electronic records, and the continuing legal proceedings.
